Step 1: Off-Road Assessment
Reviews your medical history, vision, physical ability, cognitive skills, and road-rule knowledge. This helps us understand your abilities and plan the on-road component of your assessment.
Step 2: On-Road Assessment
A practical test in a dual-controlled car with the Occupational Therapist and Driving Instructor. You'll drive in a variety of areas while we observe your road rules, hazard response, and vehicle control.
Step 3: Outcome
At the end of the assessment, we discuss the results and explain the recommendation. Your assessment will result in one of three outcomes:
Safe to continue driving.
Further support required.
No longer safe to drive.

Step 4: Reporting
We prepare a detailed report summarising your assessment results and recommendations. This is sent to you, your doctor, and Transport for NSW.
